Hearing Voices

I check my voice mail rarely. I do not mean to neglect you, I just prefer simpler messaging systems.

If your matter is urgent, voice mail is the wrong medium of communication. Feel free to call any time; if I don’t pick up, try out email or do some new-fangled text messaging.

It’s hard, I know.

Deciduous Coffee

Tara said she liked this shot, so I thought I’d post it:

By Force of Nature

Yes, that is a limb dangling from our cable line.

Does anyone know where I can get a cheap chipper?

Riv Building Expansion Progress

I took some time off work a couple weeks ago to help with some of the work at Riverview and snapped a couple pictures while I was out there. Henry said I’d probably be posting them, so here they are.

Lost

I stopped eating most ‘fast food’ a few years ago; not because I was compelled to stop for health reasons but because I came to perceive a cheap greasy burger food substance as being gross. For the most part I also stopped drinking soda (though I do sometimes indulge). It is expensive and does not render any real benefit to the user. Despite cutting these unhealthy substances out of my ‘diet’ I observed very little positive side effect.

About six months ago I came to the realization that I was only eating one or two meals a day. I decided to start eating at least three times a day, even if it wasn’t “meals”. Since that time, having made only that one conscious change, I have lost almost forty pounds. I don’t think I’ve weighed this little (which isn’t little, really) in about eight years.

What would be a good normal weight that I should be shooting for?

2008 05 27

Twenty-four years and seven months ago, I was born.
About twenty years ago, I came to understand that I could not be ‘good’ on my own and I needed Jesus’ forgiveness.
Four years and eight months ago, Tara and I got married.
Three years and five months ago, we bought our first house.
One year, six months and three days ago, our daughter Leah was born.

Compile your life so far into five sentences and throw it in the comments. It will be incomplete (of course), but it is an interesting process.

Edit: Your list does not have to be the five most important events or events that garnered the best results, but it does have to be five.
